Contests aren’t really my bag. I enjoy things like POTA because they’re more collaborative, in a sense, and aren’t so competitive. Low pressure hobbies are my jam.
That said, the occasional special event pops up and I just can’t help myself. This year, I got on the air specifically to hunt down some of the special stations for the Thirteen Colonies Special Event. I nabbed five stations that were part of the event: K2A/NY, K2D/CT, K2G/GA, K2H/MA, and K2I/NJ.
Having just finished my activation on a Sunday morning, I remembered that I didn’t check the mail Saturday. There was my nice, shiny certificate suitable for framing!
